Several decades after the war, the site of the Płaszów concentration camp (founded upon two Jewish cemeteries) has become a green oasis in a rapidly urbanizing city. Local residents fear that recent plans to build a museum will commercialize the area, flooding it with tourists. The plans also included a serious intervention into the natural environment. During this session we delve into one of the most fascinating and nuanced discussions about commemoration taking place currently in Krakow.
