Vi ska lära oss om vardagens Shemone Esray, en av de viktigaste böner i varje gudstjänst, historien bakom den och hur o när den skrevs. Vi ska läsa igenom den och lära oss vad varje bracha betyder. Sedan ska vi titta på Peter Freudenthal’s underbar seriograph samling och förhoppningsvis hitta ny mening i bönen genom hans fantastiska bilder.

Debbie Friedman z”l was the premier American Jewish folk singer. She was a worldwide phenomenon, adored by millions of fans around the globe. She was charismatic, unconventional, funny and fresh yet at the same time, spiritual and deep. Her music touches people in myriad ways and it makes the teachings of Judaism accessible to those who are open to it. Together we will sing and explore some of her lesser-known songs and try to get closer to our tradition through her music. Come and sing with us!

Re-examining Vashti and What She Means to us Today

Vashti has long been misunderstood in our tradition and given a “ bum wrap”. We will look at the way she is described in Megillat Esther and then judge her through our 21 century eyes and see if we can come up with a new view of this biblical woman.

Deborah har varit pedagog i hela sitt liv och hon gick i lärarhögskolan i USA och jobbar fortfarande som lärare. Deborah älskar att undervisa barn och vuxna i alla ämnen, men mest de judiska ämnena.
Hon var judendomslärare i Hillel o rektor i Rellen i 12 år innan hon flyttade till USA.

Idag bor hon i  New Jersey, sjunger i en judisk kör, sitter i styrelsen i sin synagoga och flera judiska organisioner. Deborah är mest stolt över de 3 menshen som är hennes barn och deras 4 barn.
