The way we engage with Earth’s other living inhabitants has a profound impact on the world as a whole. Jewish tradition has a deep understanding of our obligations to the animals with whom we share this land. In this session we will explore specific views on animal rights as well as a broader framework for understanding our place as human beings in this world.

 

Session holders

Rabbi Jonathan Bernhard is the former president of the Board of Rabbis of Southern California, co-founder of the Valley Chevra Kadisha and vice chair of the Sandra Caplan Community Beit Din. Currently living in the San Fernando Valley with his family, dogs and chickens.

Paula Grossman är miljöaktivist och representant i Sverige för Ecopeace Middle East. Tidigare miljökonsulent, inriktad på övergången till växtbaserad kost, läromedelsförfattare samt lärare i jiddisch och svenska för invandrare.
