This session will offer an ideological-cultural analysis of climate change and the processes leading to and propelling it, from the standpoint of Jewish philosophy. We will ask how it can be understood on moral grounds, dealt with as a society and how it might even be an opportunity. The session will also include general scientific introduction to the different phenomena related to climate change and a presentation of the different theories in the field.

Aharon Ariel Lavi is a rabbi, economist and community builder. He is the founding director of Hakhel: the Jewish Intentional Communities Incubator and the authour of ”Seven: Shmita Inspired Social and Economic Ideas” i.a.
