An introduction to the uniqueness and versatility of Yiddish literary creativity from its beginnings. We will leaf through manuscripts from the 13th century, follow the first printed books and their roads of dissemination, consider pamphlets, parodies, letters, illustrations and historical songs, and other scraps of evidence to shed light on the social, literary and moral implications of Yiddish creativity.
