The Writings of Paradoxes: The Haredi (Ultra-Orthodox) Press in Israel

Despite its seemingly traditional appearance, the Haredi Jewry lives a life of paradoxes. Its values remain unquestionable. Yet, activities that are both preconditions and consequences of its acculturation with the broader non-Haredi community can be observed. This synergy is especially visible in the realm of media.
The workshop participants will have an opportunity to acquaint themselves with Haredi press and its background and will together examine the main features of the Haredi newspapers.
